Good Reference Material
Very Good ResearchThe only negative and disappointment I can find is the author's arrogant self-serving, self-review of his work which he himself characterizes as a "..masterpiece..' Give me a break!
Masterwork on Polish Military and Civilian Decorations

Hardly worth the money or effort!
Negativity Stinks!
You always end up back at Plato....Those teachers of mine that stressed that if one wanted to be "truly educated" one had to be familiar with Plato's teachings were absolutely correct. When you start digging into subjects of true and lasting worth you always end up back at Plato. When I was younger I would have laughed at the idea that some "dry as dust" greek philosopher could ever be meaningful to me. You see, I confused Plato's philosophy with the "dry as dust" approach that passes for philosophy in modern times. Plato himself not only asked what Truth, Justice, and Beauty were- he actually knew that they really existed as Ultimates. The same with Good- he knew it existed. Plato accepted the validity of omens, dreams, the mysteries, and the pre-existance of the human soul, as well as, an afterlife. It was Plato who gave us the concept of "heaven." In fact, if you examine the words that were put in Christ's mouth in the New Testament you find that every statement is a paraphrase of Plato.
As for political matters, Plato believed that concern over one's own wealth and power was the source of most conflict, and that the goal of any system of laws and government should be making all people as happy and friendly as possible- and not merely a privaleged elite.
I can't help but speculate on how different western culture would have been if Plato's undiluted teachings, or even Plotinus' neoplatonism, had been the real spiritual core of our civilization.

Good for Those Thinking of Purchasing a Cav
Not what I was looking for
I'M SMARTER NOW.....I WAS IMPRESSED WITH THE DISCUSSION ON A RAW DIET AND MANY OTHER TOPICS NOT USUALLY COVERED IN AN INTRODUCTORY BOOK.

The King's Cavalier

too generic for the breed.
beautiful pictures and much basic information

Uncannily Canned
No checkball locations
Great book for the amateur auto repairer

Disappointing at best
Novice Beware! After a few introductory words, here is the 6th sentence in the "book":
"The tuning consists of a circle of 5ths or 4ths, there are two circles of a complete octave and one circle of five notes. The range of the drum is from middle C up two octaves and a major third to E."
If that quote doesn't mean anything to you, don't expect to really understand it after reading the pamphlet. Admittedly, the words are, in fact, followed by two diagrams that show what "up a 4th" and "down a 5th" mean. But add that to all the following discussion about scales, and you still have no idea why any of it matters.
The section entitled "Technique" consists of a picture of a hand holding a drum stick and the words: "The stick has to be able to bounce off the notes. There is a slightly tighter grip employed when sticking the higher notes..." Add to that the handy note to play the left side of the drum with the left hand and the right side with the right hand and...well...I guess you're ready to start practicing sticking, because there's not much more info on the subject.
Finally, the CD consists of 30-second clips, not complete songs. Oh yeh, unless you know how to read music, there's no clue as to where even the first note is in any of the "songs".
Begining Steel Drum

Disappointing

A GLANCE OF EVERYTHINGI wanted to know where the crankshaft sensor is in my cavalier, I didn't find any pictures, they explain how to replace it in just 5 or 6 lines, any warnings, oh! sure I had trouble with this sensor.
The book doesn't explain the operation theory, and if you want to know something about Electronic Control Modules on these models, this is the wrong book.

Not for Non-Mechanics
Although I understand that this is primarily a reference text, some short stories on the acts that led to the individual awards would make very interesting reading.
